Overall coordination will be undertaken by the project applicant, UNEP/DTIE,
in close consultation with the project partners, ISWA and the Indonesian
MOE. UNEP/DTIE will also be responsible for coordinating the identification
and demonstration of appropriate ESTs. ISWA
will be entrusted with providing specific waste and disaster expertise to
the project's activities, including the preparation of capacity building
materials. UNEP/DTIE, in partnership with MOE, will be responsible for the
development and implementation of appropriate economic instruments.
Through the MOE, strong participation of local
authorities and civil society organizations in Banda Aceh will be incorporated
in the project's organizational and operational planning and implementation,
in order to ensure strong local ownership and longer term sustainability
of the project.
